I'm relieved racists haven't started calling us "Wuslims" yet. I try to explain to other crackers sometimes why them saying "wigger" is offensive, but they don't seem to get it, so "Wuslim", or maybe "Warab", or dare I say it, "Sand Wigger" would alll seem like their cup of tea.
hmm... race is funny. According to the u.s. census, for instance, "white" refers to the people of Europe, the Middle East (and perhaps North Africa) so Arabs and Persian people would be included under that anyway.
And as mentioned in "so white they named white people after them" there are certainly groups who have been Muslim for generations Chechnians, Bosnians and Albanians who are definitely of European stock.
Salaams, wow, I actually hadn't heard that about Hispanic convicts before. A few years ago, the census decided to change and recognize that Hispanics could be of more than one race. I wonder if it just takes a certain amount of time for that to be realized in other official statistics in the city, state and federal government?
